Beautiful Oversize (35 mm) 1950’s Solid 18ct Rose Gold IWC Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

This is a wonderful example of a beautifully elegant oversize (35mm across the dial excluding the winding crown) IWC dating from the 1950’s. IWC are one of the most respected watchmakers in the world and have a reputation for the highest of quality along with a classically understated dial design. The solid 18ct rose gold case is in excellent condition and after a soft polish is gleaming with only the most minor signs of wear. The original IWC signed silver/steel dial is, we believe, untouched and is very good condition We refinish most dials from this age but this one has so little patina we’ve left it as is (it may have been refinished many years ago) – please look at picture 5 for the colour of the hands and batons. The applied rose gilt hour batons with applied rose gilt Arabics at the quarters along with the rose gilt hands and the rose gilt ‘dot’ minute markers provide the softest contrast to the dial and blend beautifully with the gleaming case. To complete this beautiful piece we’ve added a high quality Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches, dark brown crocodile skin strap and gold plated buckle. The very high grade IWC signed manual wind movement is in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by my professional watchmaker. This is a beautiful example of this iconic watch and if history is any judge it will only increase in value.

As mentioned, it has just been serviced by my watchmaker and, in view of the high-grade Swiss movement, I will include a 3 month guarantee on the movement which is long enough for you to assess the working order.
