Stunning 1950’s Oversize (35 mm) Solid 10ct Gold Rolex Precision Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

Rolex made some of the most beautiful dress watches in the world during the 1940’s and 1960’s. They have become some of the most collectable and sought after watches in our range. Many were 30 mm across the case, known as mid-size, and 33 mm known as full size. Just a few are known as oversize which is 34 or 35 mm across the case excluding the winding crown.

This oversize, 35 mm, 1950’s solid 10ct Rolex Precision is just beautiful. The stunning stepped side and bull horn lug case is in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The original Rolex signed ivory/cream dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is classically Rolex from this period. The gold inlaid Arabic hour numbers with spearhead hour batons in between along with the original gold hands (red second hand) provide a soft contrast to the dial and blend perfectly with the gleaming bezel. The high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this lovely piece we’ve added a new, high quality, dark brown Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches crocodile skin strap with gold plated buckle.

Watches of this quality and in this condition are extremely rare and highly sought after – if history is any judge they will only increase in value.

As mentioned, it has just been serviced by my watchmaker and, in view of the high-grade Swiss movement, I will include a 3 month guarantee on the movement which is long enough for you to assess the working order.

The case measures 35 mm across, excluding the crown and 43 mm long including the bull horn lugs. The inside case carries the Rolex crown and is signed ‘Rolex’. It also carries the reference for solid 10ct gold (this was almost certainly made for the American market).
