Stunning Oversize 1950’s Solid 18ct Gold Bull Horn Lug Rolex Precision Chronometer Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

Every now and again we buy a watch that isn’t quite in the condition we like but it’s remarkably rare. This 1950’s Rolex Precision is such a watch. The Bull Horn lug case, especially in 18ct, is the most desireable style that Rolex made. It also has the highest grade of movement Rolex made at the time which is ‘chronometre’ standard. The case does have a minor ding between the ‘4’ and ‘5’ and the caseback has some minor ripples. All that said, this is still a simply beautiful watch in overall excellent condition.

The solid 18ct gold oversize case is, as mentioned, in overall excellent condition other than the areas mentioned – it even has a genuine ‘Thimble’ style crown that Rolex used at this time. The original ivory/cream Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is classically Rolex. The raised gold Arabic numbers, gold dot minute markers and gold angular hands are perfectly framed by the gleaming bezel and bull horn lugs. The super high grade Rolex signed ‘chronometre’ standard manual wind movement is again in very good condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this beautiful piece we’ve added a new, high quality, dark brown Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches crocodile skin strap with aftermarket gold plated Rolex buckle.

This is style of Rolex, inn 18ct with the chronometre movement rarely come up for sale and without the minor damage it would be priced in excess of £7,000.

My asking price is below the value for a watch of this rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order
