Stunning 1968 Steel and Solid Gold Rolex Oyster Datejust ‘Turn-O-Graph’ Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

This is a simply stunning Rolex Oyster Date-Just ‘Turn-O-Graph’ dating from 1968. The Turn-O-Graph is often described as the original sports watch and has a close association with the United States Air Force ‘Thunderbird’ squadron. The solid steel & gold (bezel and crown) case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear – there is no evidence of incorrect tool use on the teeth of the case back. The original ivory/cream Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is just classically Rolex. The applied gold hour batons and the original gold hands provide a soft contrast to the dial and are perfectly framed by the rotating gold bezel. The gold Rolex signed Oyster crown does show wear but is working perfectly. The very high grade Rolex signed Chronometer standard automatic movement has just been serviced by my professional watchmaker. To complete this beautiful watch we’ve added a new, high quality dark brown crocodile skin strap with steel aftermarket Rolex buckle. This is a simply beautiful piece and if history is any judge it will only increase in value.

My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within 14 days in the same condition and by a recognised and insured courier.
