Super Rare 1948 Full Size (33 mm) Steel Rolex Precision Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

This is a stunning example of the extremely beautiful and very rare steel Rolex Precision dating from 1948. The majority of the Precision range were made in gold and also often in the smaller, known as midsize, case of 30 mm excluding the crown. Being steel and the full size, at 33 mm, it’s an extremely desireable piece.

The steel case is in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear – the serial number, used to date the watch, is extremely well defined. The original and very slightly off-white Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is classically Rolex. The raised rose gold Arabic numbers with rose gold ‘stick’ batons in between along with the slim rose gold hands (blued steel with bubble at the stop second hand) create a soft contrast to the dial and steel case. We’ve struggled to capture the colours on the photograph and picture 1 gives the true colours. The high grade ‘fab suisse’ Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in very good condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this lovely piece we’ve added a new, high quality, black Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches crocodile skin strap with steel Hirsch buckle.

My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order.
