This is a stunning example of a 1950’s solid 9ct gold Rolex Oyster with a solid 9ct gold Rolex ‘Rivet’ Oyster bracelet with flex (springs in the individual plates to allow for larger wrists). Watches of this quality are extremely rare and to find a bracelet, in this condition, only happens once a year or so.
The solid 9ct gold case is in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear – the Thunderbird bezel around the lens is extremely well defined. The original ivory/cream Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished and is exceptional. The raised gold Arabic hour numbers, original gold hands and railway line style minute markers create a classic late art-deco look (please see picture 3 for the dial and Arabic numbers colour). The original and super high quality Rolex signed perpetual ‘Butterfly’ (so called due to the antenna style cut outs in the rotor) movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. We also have a genuine solid 9ct gold Rolex flexi rivet bracelet which is in excellent condition and a good size. It will fit a wrist of 7.75 inches/20 cm – please check this will be large enough. These bracelets are incredibly difficult to find and in this condition. The bracelet came with the watch and we are assured it was original to the watch – we can guarantee it’s genuine Rolex and is fully hallmarked.
In line with may gold Oysters of this age the serial number is illegible (this happens with wear with polishing) so we can’t give an exact year. We do give a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity and of course provenance of all our watches.
