Collector Condition 1960’s Solid 18ct Gold Patek Philippe Calatrava Unisex Vintage Watch

The Overview

We are working with a UK based collector who has asked us to market a selection of his watches. As part of the offer each watch has had a full service and refurbishment by the UK’s leading watchmaker, Steven Hale Watch Restoration. Each watch will come with a 2 year guarantee from Steve Hale and a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity by Sonning Vintage Watches.

Patek Philippe are quite simply the most famous and most prestigious watchmaker in the world. They have broken pretty much every record in terms of accuracy, price, rarity and waiting lists. Founded in 1839 they created many of the most famous watches in the world.

This particular model was made in the 1960’s and would’ve originally been a gents size at 33mm across excluding the Patek signed crown. I mention this just so potential buyers check the size before buying as it’s a small man’s watch or large size ladies. The solid 18ct yellow gold case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear. The original slightly off-white Patek signed dial is untouched and in excellent condition. The applied yellow gold stick batons and hands along with the sub-second dial create the classic Patek look of elegance. The very high grade Patek signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by SHWR. Very rarely we also have a brand new black Patek alligator strap with solid 18ct Yellow gold Patek buckle.

The Calatrava is Patek’s flagship watch and to find an untouched example in this condition is wonderful.

The Box, Papers and Sonning Warranty

As with the majority of pre-owned watches that are 10 years or older, this particular watch does not come with its original box or paperwork. The watch is 100% genuine and rest assured we provide a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity and provenance of all the watches we sell.

Although there is no original paperwork, we do provide a written invoice and 3 page insurance valuation with the pictures of the watch and all available reference numbers. We also give a 12 month warranty on all our watches. We also stock a good selection of vintage watch boxes to help complete your purchase.

The Conclusion

This is a beautiful example of a watch from one of horology’s most famous names and will, if history is any judge, provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy. I will provide an insurance valuation in excess of my asking price. Please appreciate the difficulty of photographing this piece, it looks even better in real life. Subject to your location I’ll happily show the watch.
