Well, this is how it all began; Rolex’s first waterproof wristwatch with it’s screw down winding crown and upgraded engineering. This example is in solid 9ct rose gold with a genuine and extremely rare yellow gold Rolex signed screw down crown. The case is in overall excellent condition but does have some minor surface scratches. We know the dial is genuine Rolex and believe it’s untouched but it may have been refinished. It’s signed ‘Admiralty Northern Goldsmiths’ who were the first business in the UK to stock Rolex (1919). The ivory/cream dial has painted (black) Arabic style hour numbers and railway line minute markers. The sub-second (as against centre second) dial is just beautiful as are the blued steel hour and minute hand. The high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and was fully serviced by the UK’s premier vintage Rolex watchmaker, SHWR, in 2019 (SHWR also supplied the genuine Rolex winding crown). The watch sits on a ladies size black lizard skin strap with non-Rolex yellow gold buckle.
Whilst robust this isn’t an everyday watch and whilst running strongly will gain/lose 50 to 60 seconds/day. It’s also no longer waterproof.
In view of the high quality movement we will give a 12 month guarantee.
