This is a collector condition example of the wonderfully rare and extremely beautiful Rolex Precision from 1947. The stunning art-deco style steel case is in exceptional condition with only the most minimal signs of wear – the Rolex crown and serial number (469560 dating it to 1947) are extremely well defined on the outside case back; these are nearly always worn off with wear and polishing. The original Rolex signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is classically styled for this period. The raised gold diamond hour batons (spearhead at the ‘3’ and ‘9’) along with the original gold hands and sub-second create a stunning look – please see picture 5 for the colours). The very high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in very good condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this piece we’ve added a new high quality black Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches crocodile skin strap with steel buckle. We hold the Hirsch franchise so can supply any strap in their range.
My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a 12 month written guarantee on the movement.
