This is a simply beautiful example of the incredibly rare Bombe (these have become known as Bombay lug) lug Rolex Oyster Perpetual from the 1960’s. The solid 14ct gold case is in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The original Rolex signed silver pearlescent dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is just breathtaking. The applied yellow gold hour batons and original yellow gold hands provide the softest contrast to the dial and blend perfectly with the gleaming solid 14ct yellow gold provenance polished case. The Rolex signed screwdown winding crown is working perfectly and there is no sign of improper tool use on the screw back caseback. This watch is fitted with the original high grade, Rolex signed, chronometer standard movement which again is in excellent condition. My professional watchmaker has also fully serviced the watch. To complete this watch I’ve added a new, high quality, dark brown Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches crocodile skin strap and a gold plated Hirsch buckle
I have only found 5 or 6 of these Bombay lug Oysters and they are one of the most desirable watches Rolex made. A similar watch in the Burlington Arcade would be priced at over £10,000. Watches of this rarity, quality and condition are highly sought after and if history is any judge will only increase in value.
As mentioned, it has just been serviced by my watchmaker and, in view of the high-grade Swiss movement, I will include a 12 month guarantee on the movement.
