Jaeger le Coultre are one of the most famous names in watch and clock making with a history stretching back to 1833 and began making their own movements in the 1860’s. In the early 1900’s Jacques David Le Coultre joined forces with Edmond Jaeger to create Jaeger le Coultre. They are the most innovative of watchmakers starting with the famous ‘Reverso’ through to the Wrist Alarm and Memovox.
We are working with a private collector who bought this particular manual wind Reverso new in 2009 and it’s just come back from a full Jaeger service (I’ll be posting the paperwork for the service in the next few days).
Being the Grand model it’s 32mm across excluding the crown and 52mm long including the lugs – a true statement piece. It’s the 242nd of a limited edition of 500.
The solid 18ct rose gold case is immaculate after the Jaeger service (unworn since) and the slide mechanism for the day and night dials is super smooth. It currently sits on an extra large Jaeger alligator strap but we also have the original and unworn dark brown Jaeger alligator strap along with the solid 18ct rose gold Jaeger signed deployment clasp. In terms of provenance we have:
- The purchase receipt from Harrods
- The Certificate of Origin
- The Brochures
- The original box – inner and outer
- It was also serviced by Jaeger in 2016 and we have the paperwork
- We will have the paperwork for the service this year over the next few days
This is quite simply one of the most stunning watches we’ve had the privilege to sell in the last 15 years. It will come with the Jaeger warranty after the service.
