We are working with a UK based collector who has asked us to market a selection of his watches. As part of the offer each watch has had a full service and refurbishment by the UK’s leading watchmaker, Steven Hale Watch Restoration. Each watch will come with a 2 year guarantee from Steve Hale and a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity by Sonning Vintage Watches.
There are a number of great watchmakers and it’s hard to pick the top 3 but I’d put Vacheron in that group. Formed in 1755, they’re recognised as the oldest and one of the most prestigious watchmakers in the World. Looking at this stunning piece I can see why. It’s worth remembering that the average size of a man’s dress watch in the 1950’s was 31/32mm and it wasn’t unusual for a man to wear a 30mm case size. Vacheron ignored this and created a 35mm solid 18ct Rose Gold with super desirable tear drop lugs. The case is in near faultless condition and please note the genuine rose gold ‘thimble’ crown. The original paper white Vacheron signed dial is untouched and magnificent – there are a few signs of age related wear but they’re hard to see with the naked eye. I’ve also done a wrist video and if you’d like a copy please advise your WhatsApp number. The applied rose gold hour numbers, inner railway line minute markers, rose gold ‘stick’ hands and art-deco sub-second dial are perfectly framed by the sold 18ct rose gold case. The very high grade Vacheron signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by SHWR. The watch sits on a new genuine dark brown Vacheron alligator strap with a new solid 18ct rose gold Vacheron buckle. We also have a Extract of Archives from Vacheron confirming the case and movement number along with a sale date of 1942.
