IWC are one of the most respected watchmakers in the World. Founded in 1868, it has become a Premier League brand for both the super quality movements and classic design. This 1951 IWC dress watch sums up the brand. The beautiful solid 18ct yellow gold case is in very good condition but does have a few minor ripples and very minor surface scratches in the case back. We believe the original champagne/mustard dial is untouched but we do guarantee it’s original to the watch. The raised gold hour batons and original gold plated hands create a classically elegant look. With the domed lens it’s a difficult watch to capture and the first picture is the clearest representation – I have done a What’s App wrist video. The Overview
The Case
The beautiful solid 18ct yellow gold case is in very good condition but does have a few minor ripples and very minor surface scratches in the case back. The case measures 36mm across, excluding the winding crown and 42mm long including the lugs. The inside case is signed ‘IWC’, ‘1251062’ and has the appropriate hallmarks for solid 18ct gold.
The Movement
The original IWC signed manual wind movement is in excellent condition and has just been serviced by the UK’s premier watchmaker, Steven Hale Watch Restoration (November 2023 – it is covered by their 2 year guarantee to November 2025 and we will cover it for a total of 12 months). The movement is signed ‘International Watch Co’ and ‘Swiss’.
The Box, Papers and Sonning Warranty
