Stunning 1959 Solid 9ct Gold Rolex Precision ‘Coin Edge’ 34mm Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

We are working with a UK based collector who has asked us to market a selection of his watches. As part of the offer each watch has had a full service and refurbishment by the UK’s leading watchmaker, Steven Hale Watch Restoration. Each watch will come with a 2 year guarantee from Steve Hale and a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity by Sonning Vintage Watches.

This is a beautiful example of the extremely rare Rolex Precision with ‘Coin Edge’ sides from 1959. The solid 9ct yellow gold case is in overall excellent condition with only some minor dings in the outside case back. The original and untouched Rolex signed ivory/cream dial is again in overall very good condition with only minor signs of patina. I’ve tried to capture these on the photographs and they’re fairly hard to see with the naked eye. The original and high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and just back from the SHWR service. The watch sits on a new, high quality, brown hand made strap with a genuine solid 9ct gold Rolex buckle (it’s signed ‘ALD’ which were an English casemaker used by Rolex and a number of the major Swiss brands at this time).

The Box, Papers and Sonning Warranty

As with the majority of pre-owned watches that are 10 years or older, this particular watch does not come with its original box and paperwork. The watch is 100% genuine and rest assured we provide a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity and provenance of all the watches we sell.

Although there is no original paperwork, we do provide a written invoice and 3 page insurance valuation with the pictures of the watch and all available reference numbers. We also give a 12 month warranty on all our watches. We also stock a good selection of vintage watch boxes to help complete your purchase.

This is a rare and highly collectable vintage watch from one of horology’s most famous names and will, if history is any judge, provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy. I will provide an insurance valuation in excess of my asking price. Please appreciate the difficulty of photographing this piece, it looks even better in real life.
