This is a simply beautiful example of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual dating from 1959. Very rarely, it’s the large case (the average size of a man’s watch in the 1950’s was 33mm and this one is 35mm) ‘Big Bubble’ model in steel and solid gold (the bezel). The steel & gold case is in very good condition with only a few minor signs of wear – it also has the original gold Rolex ‘Super’ Oyster winding crown. The original Rolex signed steel pearlescent dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is classically Rolex. The applied gold hour batons along with the gold hands are perfectly framed by the gleaming gold engine turned bezel. The original Rolex signed automatic movement is again in very good condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this magnificent piece we’ve added a new, super high quality, dark brown Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with gold plated Hirsch buckle.
My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a 12 month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enough for you to assess the working order
