This example was made in 1968 and is in overall very good condition. The solid steel case will have been polished in the past but hasn’t been for a few years. There are fairly minor signs of wear around the case from regular but careful use. The guaranteed genuine Rolex signed dial is in excellent condition and the lume has aged to a beautiful mushroom colour – these have domed lenses and they’re tricky to photograph. The watch also benefits from from what we believe is the original ‘Long 5’ bezel insert – we can guarantee it’s genuine Rolex and correct for this watch – extremely rare. Whilst we guarantee it’s genuine Rolex it’s hard to know if this is the original bracelet. In terms of condition it does have some stretch and sag but is aesthetically very good and of course safe.
