This is a stunning example of the Rolex Oyster Datejust from 1971. The solid steel and yellow gold (fluted bezel) case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear. The original Rolex signed pearlescent champagne dial is untouched and in excellent condition. The applied gold hour batons and gold hands provide the softest contrast to the dial and are perfectly framed by the gleaming gold fluted bezel. The very high grade Rolex signed automatic movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this beautiful piece we’ve added a new, super high quality, dark brown Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with gold plated Hirsch buckle.

My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a 12 month written guarantee on the movement.

The inside case is signed ‘Montres Rolex SA Geneva Switzerland’, ‘Stainless Steel’ and the case number is ‘1601’. The age reference is 11.71 dating it to 1971.
