We are working with a UK based collector who has asked us to market a selection of his watches. As part of the offer each watch has had a full service and refurbishment by the UK’s leading watchmaker, Steven Hale Watch Restoration. Each watch will come with a 2 year guarantee from Steve Hale and a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity by Sonning Vintage Watches.
Cartier were launched in 1847 and quickly built a reputation for style and quality in jewellry. They produced their first wristwatch in 1904 at the request of the Brazilian aviator called Alberto Santos-Dumont hence the model name of Santos. Cartier cemented their quality by using Jaeger movements and the large square dedicated watch went into full time production in 1911 and helped moved men from pocket watches to wristwatches. They are one of the few non-Swiss watchmakers to sit in the Premier League.
This Cartier Centiture (French for belt) was a homage to a 1920’s watch Cartier created and was launched in 1973. The solid 18ct yellow gold case is in excellent condition with only very minor signs of wear. The original crisp white enamel Cartier signed dial is in excellent condition and the classic design of Roman numerals and, being a copy of their 1920’s watch, no second-hand. The very high grade Cartier signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and has just been serviced by SHWR. It has a new, black Cartier crocodile skin strap and very rarely a solid 18ct yellow gold Cartier deployment clasp (around £1,400).
This is one of the most beautiful ladies watches we’ve had for a long time.
