Rolex made some of the most beautiful dress watches in the world during the 1940’s and 1950’s. They have become some of the most collectable and sought after watches in our range. Many were 30mm across the case, known as mid-size, and 33mm known as full size – most were also 9ct gold. Just a few are known as oversize which is 34 or 35mm across the case excluding the winding crown. This is not only 36mm across but also solid 18ct gold..
This is a stunning example of the oversize plus solid 18ct yellow gold Rolex Precision from 1956. The solid 18ct gold case is in very good condition but does have some marks on the case and case back. The original Rolex signed ivory/cream Rolex signed has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is classically late art-deco. The raised gold hour numbers and original gold dauphine hands (blued steel second hand) are perfectly framed by the solid 18ct gold case. The original and high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker (the pictures were taken at his workshop). To complete this magnificent watch we’ve added a new, super high quality, black Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with gold plated Hirsch buckle.
In view of the high quality movement we will give a 12 month guarantee on it. Whilst we wouldn’t recommend this for everyday wear it’s more than robust enough for regular wear.
