Exceptional 1976 Rolex Oyster Datejust with Original Rolex Papers and Rolex Service (from 2011)

The Overview

This is a beautiful example of the iconic Rolex Datejust from 1976. The solid steel case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear. The original matt black Rolex signed dial is again in excellent condition – I’ve just noticed some of the pictures show minor scratching around the 10 baton; this was on the lens and we’ve had it polished off. The very high grade Rolex signed chronometer standard automatic movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our watchmaker. The watch sits on a later (2009) but genuine Rolex Jubilee bracelet. The bracelet’s in excellent aesthetic condition but does have a lot of stretch/sag. Very rarely we have the original Rolex guarantee and a Rolex service record from 2011. As few as 1 in 50 watches of this age have the original paperwork and we will include a Rolex box for a full price sale.

In view of the quality and condition of the movement we will give a 12 month guarantee.

The Conclusion

This is a rare and highly collectable vintage watch from one of horology’s most famous names and will, if history is any judge, provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy. I will provide an insurance valuation in excess of my asking price. Please appreciate the difficulty of photographing this piece, it looks even better in real life. Subject to your location I’ll happily show the watch.
