Rolex made some of the most beautiful dress watches in the world during the 1940’s and 1950’s. They have become some of the most collectable and sought after watches in our range. Many were 30mm across the case, known as mid-size, and 33mm known as full size. Just a few are known as oversize which is 34 or 35mm across the case excluding the winding crown. Even fewer were made in solid 18ct rose gold and has a linen or textured dial…..
This is a magnificent example of the Rolex Precision in solid 18ct rose gold with a textured dial. The oversize solid 18ct rose gold case is in near faultless condition with only the most minor signs of wear. The original ivory/cream Rolex signed linen dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is stunning. The applied rose gold hour batons along with the rose gold dauphine hands and sub-second dial create a classically late art-deco look (there are some minor marks on the dial but these are hard to see with the naked eye (I’m always happy to do a WhatsApp video if required). The high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is also in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. The watch sits on a new, super high grade, black Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with non-Rolex rose gold plated buckle.
This is a simply wonderful example of one of the rarest watches in this model range. Please bear in mind this watch is nearly 80 years old and whilst robust isn’t an everyday watch and the time-keeping will be a minute or so plus or minus.
The photographs of the movement and inside case were taken at our watchmakers.
