This is a stunning example of the iconic mid-size Rolex Datejust from 1979. The solid 18ct yellow gold is in overall excellent condition with some minor surface scratches. The original and beautiful dark blue pearlescent Rolex dial is again in excellent condition – the yellow gold hands and fluted bezel provide a lovely contrast. The very high grade Rolex signed chronometer standard automatic movement is again in excellent condition and was fully serviced by the Rolex approved watchmaker Stephen Hale so has their 2 year guarantee to 31/1/27 – we’ll provide a balance for the full year. The watch sits on a brown lizard skin strap which is in very good condition – very rarely it also has a genuine solid 18ct yellow gold Rolex buckle (£650 or so)… In terms of provenance we have:
- The original Rolex guarantee paperwork
- The original Rolex swing-tag with the correct serial number on it
- The original Rolex boxes, inner and outer
- The original dark brown Rolex strap which is wearable but has been heavily worn
- The service record from SHWR
Finding a solid 18ct gold Rolex in this condition is very rare but to find it with the provenance and the solid 18ct gold Rolex buckle is virtually unheard of.
