Stunning 1986 Rolex Oyster Submariner 16800 with Box and Brochures Gents Watch

The Overview

The Rolex Submariner is arguably the most famous watch in the World. Worn by Presidents, Movie Stars and Watch Dealers… Introduced in 1953 it was the first watch to be waterproof to 100 meters. Adopted by Ian Fleming’s hero, James Bond the latest models design can easily be traced back to the original.

This example was made in 1986 (serial 9.3million) and is in excellent condition. The solid steel case is in very good condition with only minor surface scratches. The original Rolex signed jet black dial is again in excellent condition and the bezel insert is very good with some minor scratches. The super high grade chronometer standard Rolex signed automatic movement is again in excellent condition and has been serviced by our watchmaker. The watch sits on what we believe is the original bracelet. The deployment clasp age reference is ‘G’ dating it to 1982. Hard to believe but in the 80’s Submariners were freely available at Rolex dealers and often sat around for a year or so prior to being sold. We do guarantee it’s genuine Rolex. We also have a genuine Rolex Submariner brochure with the date of 1986 and a period correct Rolex box.

The Submariner is often seen as the World’s most famous watch and shown great investment returns (we can’t guarantee future values). We give a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity and provenance and we provide a 12 month guarantee on the movement.
