The Rolex Day-Date was the original and, to this day, their flagship watch – one of the many famous advertisements for this watch featured a Boardroom table with the strap line of ‘Men who make decisions wear a Day-Date (apologies for the sexist nature…).
This example was made in 1971 and is in overall excellent condition with some light scratching to the solid 18ct yellow gold case. The original Rolex signed crisp white ‘Buckley’ dial is again in excellent condition with only a faint scratch under the Roman numeral hour markers between the ‘II’ and ‘VIII’ – this is hard to see with the naked eye and I’d be happy to send a WhatsApp video if required. The chronometer standard Rolex signed automatic movement is in excellent condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. The watch sits on a new, super high quality, black Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with gold plated Hirsch buckle. As this isn’t the quick set model we have included a new, high quality, solid wood watch-winder so the day and date will be kept aside from non-31 day months if not being worn.
In view of the condition and quality of the movement we will give a 12 month guarantee.
