This is an extremely rare example of their ability to create a stunning yet practical dress watch – the average case in the 1950’s would’ve been 31/32mm; this one’s 36mm. The solid 18ct gold teardrop lug/bull horn case is in exceptional condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The original Vacheron signed dial, in grey and steel coloured outer ring is we believe untouched – there are some minor signs of wear that are hard to see with the naked eye (we guarantee it’s the original dial). The applied gold hour arrow head hour batons with Roman numerals at the quarters along with the railway line minute markers and sub-second dial create a classically late art-deco look. The beautifully slender hour, minute and sub-second hand match the hour numbers and super rare gold thimble style winding crown. The original Vacheron signed manual wind movement is a work of art and has just been fully serviced by Steven Hale. The watch sits on a new, dark brown, alligator strap with gold plated buckle.

Whilst we haven’t got paperwork we have got the official Vacheron Extract of Archives confirming everything is correct (paperwork on this age of watch is virtually unheard of).

The solid 18ct gold teardrop lug/bull horn case is in exceptional condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The case measures 36mm across, excluding the very rare thimble crown (Vacheron didn’t ‘sign’ crowns in these days) and 43mm long including the lugs. The inside case is signed ‘Vacheron Constantin’, ‘Swiss Depose’ and the case number is ‘318767’.

As with the majority of pre-owned watches that are 10 years or older, this particular watch does not come with its paperwork or original box. The watch is 100% genuine and rest assured we provide a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity and provenance of all the watches we sell. We also have the Vacheron Extract of Archives.

Although there is no original paperwork, we do provide a written invoice and 3 page insurance valuation with the pictures of the watch and all available reference numbers. We also give a 12 month warranty on all our watches.
