The Rolex Submariner is arguably their most famous model. Introduced in 1953, it’s been the staple of divers, Presidents, movie stars, oil rig workers and just anybody who wants a watch for all occasions.

This example is the iconic 14060M (M standing for modified to indicate Rolex’s upgraded movement) 2 liner and was sold in 2001. The solid steel case is in overall excellent condition after a Rolex service polish in 2019 (it has been worn sparingly since so the case has some minor scratches and marks). The original jet black dial is untouched though we believe the bezel insert was replaced by Rolex in 2019 during the service. The super high grade chronometer Rolex signed automatic movement is again in excellent condition – our watchmaker will give it a service in between sale and delivery. The original Rolex bracelet is again in excellent overall condition with only some minor signs of wear and very little sag/stretch. In terms of provenance we have:

• The original Rolex paperwork
• The original Rolex sales receipt from the legendary Havana Rolex dealer for $3,255
• The Rolex brochures
• The Rolex Anchor, Rolex box, inner and outer and a polishing cloth
• The Rolex service record from 2019

This is as much provenance as we’ve ever had on a Submariner. We will give a lifetime guarantee on the provenance and authenticity and a 12 month guarantee on the watch.

The case measures 40mm across, excluding the Rolex crown and 47mm long including the lugs. The inside case is signed ‘Montres Rolex SA Geneva Switzerland’, ‘Patented Stainless Steel’ and ‘2160’.
