We work with a collector who supplies highly documented military watches and this Heuer is as good as it gets. Made in 1970 and supplied to the German Airforce in 1971, it was purchased from a Munich watch supplier who bought it from the original owner, Lieutenant Colonel Holzhauer. The steel case is in overall excellent condition but does have wear in line with regular wear. The original dial is again in very good condition but does have some wear around the ‘2’ and ‘4’ area and ‘7’ to ‘8’. The manual wind Valjoux 230 flyback chronograph movement was serviced by Stephen Hale Watch Restoration of Mayfair in November 2019 (SHWR are one of the world’s most respected watchmakers). In terms of provenance we have:
- Copies of the owner’s Air Crew Licence
- A letter from Tag Heuer confirming the serial number and details of the watch
- A letter from the Militar Historiches Museum and the Military Archives confirming Alfred Holzhauer did serve in the Bundeswehr (Luftwaffe) during the 1960’s and 1970’s.
- Service letter from SHWR
- A hard plastic case
The watch is currently being serviced by our watchmaker and we will include a 12 month guarantee on the movement.
