Just Beautiful 1930’s 18ct White Gold, Platinum and Diamond Ladies Cocktail Watch

The Overview

This is a simply beautiful ladies cocktail watch from the late 1920’s/early 1930’s. The solid 18ct white gold and platinum case is in overall excellent condition with only minor surface scratches. The tank shaped case has 38 diamonds (I’ve inspected the case closely and the diamonds look original and securely seated, we cannot however guarantee they are the original diamonds due to the age) and wonderfully chased sides (the winding crown is also original). The original and untouched off-white dial is again in very good condition with painted hour numbers, railway line style minute markers and the original blued steel hands. The high grade Swiss made manual wind movement is in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our watchmaker – please note, watches of this age will gain/lose time of 2 to 3 minutes. We bought this watch and it came with a lovely period watch box from W E Watts. It looks to be the correct box but we cannot guarantee it came with the watch. We also have what we believe is the original string strap with steel shoulder ties and buckle.

This is quite simple a stunning watch from 90 years ago and whilst in excellent condition it wouldn’t be for every day but fine for special occasions. In view of the high quality Swiss movement we will give a 12 month guarantee.

The Conclusion

This is an extremely rare and highly collectible vintage watch and will provide, is history is any judge, an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy. I will provide an insurance valuation in excess of my asking price. Please appreciate the difficulty of photographing this piece, it looks far better in real life. Subject to your location I’ll happily show the watch if required.
