Universal Geneve are one of the most respected watchmakers in the World and were formed in the late 1800’s in Locle, Geneva. As a statement of intent they moved their head office to the Rue De Rhone in Geneva between Rolex and Patek Philippe…
This watch was made in the 1940’s and the steel and yellow gold plated case is in overall very good condition – there’s some minor pitting on the outside case back and a small amount of plating missing on the lug by the ’10’ baton (hard to see with the naked eye). The original and we believe untouched Universal signed 2 register dial is simply beautiful. It’s aged to a beautiful light gold colour. The rose gold angular hands with blued steel sub-dial hands and large stop watch hand create a stunning late art-deco feel. The very high grade manual wind Universal signed movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this stunning piece we’ve added a new, dark brown, leather strap with yellow gold plated Hirsch buckle. We also have a genuine 1950’s Universal box which is in good condition but doesn’t have the inner.
In view of the quality of the movement we will include a 12 month guarantee.
