This is a stunning example of the Rolex Oyster Datejust from 1979 – it’s also the quick-set model allowing the date to be changed without moving the hands around dial. The solid steel and white gold (fluted bezel) case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear (minor pitting on the outside case back). The original Rolex signed textured steel dial is untouched and in excellent condition. The applied steel hour batons and steel hands provide the softest contrast to the dial and are perfectly framed by the gleaming gold fluted bezel. The very high grade Rolex signed automatic movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this beautiful piece we’ve added a new, super high quality, black Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with steel Hirsch buckle.
My asking price is below the value for a watch of this condition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintage watches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I will include a 12 month written guarantee on the movement.
