Patek Philippe are quite simply the most famous and most prestigious watchmaker in the world. They have broken pretty much every record in terms of accuracy, price, rarity and waiting lists. Founded in 1839 they created many of the most famous watches in the world.
This particular model was made in the mid 1990’s – the serial number is 1.91million and the first to be made in 1990 was 1.85million so it’s around 1996/7. The solid 18ct yellow gold case is in overall very good condition with minor signs of wear to the case sides and case back. I’ve tried to capture these on the photographs and they’re barely noticeable to the naked eye. We can have the case polished and it takes 3 weeks and costs around £200. The original crisp white Patek signed dial is in excellent condition and classically elegant. The black Roman numerals and black hands against the white are perfectly framed by the solid 18ct gold ‘hob-nail’ bezel. The super high grade automatic movement with the solid 18ct gold rotor is in excellent condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. The watch sits on a genuine black Patek Philippe alligator strap with solid 18ct gold Patek buckle. The strap is relatively poor condition and they can be bought from PP for around £450 (the buckles, which can be used with a new PP strap are £710). The buckle is designed for a Patek strap and is 14mm and whilst we can replace the strap with a Hirsch the buckle won’t fit. We’d also need to cut the Patek off so it would be ruined. Whilst we have no paperwork we are happy to apply for an extract of archives from Patek and this usually take 6 to 8 weeks.
Patek are quite simply the most desirable watches in the world. The case is 33mm across excluding the Patek winding crown so it’s a fairly small watch and I’d be happy to provide a WhatsApp video on my wrist to give you an idea of the size. We will include a 12 month guarantee on the movement.
