Rolex made some of the most beautiful dress watches in the world during the 1940’s and 1950’s. They have become some of the most collectable and sought after watches in our range. Many were 30mm across the case, known as mid-size, and 33mm known as full size. Just a few are known as oversize which is 34 or 35mm across the case excluding the winding crown.
This is a beautiful example of the oversize (35mm) Rolex Precision dating from 1959. The solid 9ct yellow gold case is in overall excellent condition with only the most minor signs of ear and some very shallow ripples in the in the case back. The original Rolex signed ivory/cream dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is classically late art-deco. The raised gold Arabic hour numbers and gold dagger hands create a stunning look – there’s a very light scratch around the centre of the dial and I’ve tried to capture this on the photograph – happy to send the original high res pictures or do a wrist video. The very high grade Rolex signed manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. The watch currently sits on a nearly new black crocodile skin strap & we’ve ordered a black or dark brown Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap.
This is a stunning piece and we will give a 12 month guarantee on the movemen.
