We are working with a UK based collector who has asked us to market a selection of his watches. As part of the offer each watch has had a full service and refurbishment by the UK’s leading watchmaker, Steven Hale Watch Restoration. Each watch will come with a 2 year guarantee from Steve Hale and a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity by Sonning Vintage Watches.
Vacheron Constantin are recognised as the oldest watchmaker in the World and were formed in 1755. They form part of The Holy Trinity along with Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, the 3 best watchmakers in the World…
This is an extremely rare example of their ability to create a stunning yet practical dress watch – the average case in the 1940’s would’ve been 31/32mm; this one’s 35mm. The tear drop lug/bull horn case is in exceptional condition with only the most minimal signs of wear. The original Vacheron signed dial, in ivory/cream with a steel coloured outer ring has almost certainly been refinished to an exceptional standard and is breathtaking (we guarantee it’s the original dial). The applied gold hour numbers along with the railway line minute markers and sub-second dial create a classically late art-deco look. The beautifully slender hour, minute and sub-second hand match the hour numbers and super rare gold thimble style winding crown. The original Vacheron signed manual wind movement is a work of art and has just been fully serviced by Steven Hale. The watch sits on a new, dark brown, alligator embossed strap with gold plated Hirsch buckle.
Whilst we haven’t got paperwork we have got the official Vacheron Extract of Archives confirming everything is correct (paperwork on this age of watch is virtually unheard of.
This is a simply beautiful watch from one of best watchmakers in the World.
