The Rolex Day-Date was the original and, to this day, their flagship watch – one of the many famous advertisements for this watch featured a Boardroom table with the strap line of ‘Men who make decisions wear a Day-Date (apologies for the sexist nature…).
This example was made in 1979 and the solid 18ct yellow case is in excellent condition with only limited signs of minor surface scratching. The original and stunning Rolex signed purple pearlescent dial is in overall very good condition with only minor signs of wear at the bottom of the solid gold hour batons; these are difficult to see in normal wear. The super high grade Rolex signed chronometer standard automatic movement is again in excellent condition and is being serviced as I type (it’ll be ready early September). The watch sits on a new, super high quality, dark blue Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with a Hirsch gold plate buckle.
