The Rolex Turn-O-Graph was introduced in 1953 and became the Rolex to be seen as a ‘tool’ or sports watch. It was the first watch to have the rotating bezel (later adopted by the Submariner, GMT etc). It was adopted by the US Air Force Thunderbird squadron and featured on Rolex adverts and became the nickname for this iconic watch.
This example was made in 1959 and the steel and solid gold case is in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear. The original Rolex signed pearlescent champagne dial is in excellent condition and looks stunning – I’ve tried to capture it on the photographs but would be happy to send a WhatsApp wrist video if required. The original Rolex signed ‘1066’ ‘Butterfly’ automatic movement is again in very good condition – watches of this age will require winding once or twice a week but the automatic movement does still charge it with wear. The watch sits on a new, super high quality, dark brown Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with Hirsch buckle.
In view of the high quality and condition we will give a 12 month guarantee on the movement.
