Stunning 1965 Rolex Oyster Submariner 5513 Gents Vintage Watch

The Overview

Launched in 1953, The Rolex Submariner is the most famous watch in the world. Worn by President Obama to James Bond as well as divers and oil rig workers; it is the ultimate sports watch.

This example was made in 1965 and is in overall very good condition. The solid steel case will have been polished in the past but hasn’t been for a few years. There are fairly minor signs of wear around the case from regular but careful use. The guaranteed genuine Rolex signed dial is in excellent condition and the lume has aged to a beautiful mushroom colour. The hands have been replaced, usually during a Rolex service, and our watchmaker has colour matched them to the lume plots (slightly darker) – early Submariners have domed lenses and they’re tricky to photograph. If you’d like a wrist video which gives a far better view of the lens please advise your WhatsApp number. The very high grade Rolex signed automatic movement is in excellent condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. The watch sits on a genuine but later Rolex bracelet with the references:

End Pieces – 78360 and 580

Deployment Clasp – 78360 and VF (dating it around 1981)

In terms of condition it does have some stretch and sag but is aesthetically very good with the usual scratches and signs of wear.
