The Rolex Day-Date was the original and, to this day, their flagship watch – one of the many famous advertisements for this watch featured a Boardroom table with the strap line of ‘Men who make decisions wear a Day-Date (apologies for the sexist nature…).
This example was made in 1977 and is in near faultless condition – the solid 18ct yellow gold case is nearly flawless aside from the most minor signs of wear. The original Rolex signed champagne dial is again in excellent condition with only a minor mark by the ‘1’ baton – I’ve highlighted this on the 2nd picture (there’s also a mark under the lens and our watchmaker will remove this prior to sale). The chronometer standard Rolex signed automatic movement is again in excellent condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. The watch sits on a new, super high quality, dark brown Hirsch ‘London’ alligator strap with gold plated Hirsch buckle. As this isn’t the quick set model we have included a new, high quality, solid wood watch-winder so the day and date will be kept aside from non-31 day months if not being worn.
In view of the condition and quality of the movement we will give a 12 month guarantee.
